Giving Back

Hello SCLS Readers!

Hard to believe this is the 6th Issue of South Charlotte Lifestyle.  Time is flying faster than ever. I recently retired from 33 years in Corporate America.  Over those 33 years, I specialized in sales and marketing. While I am grateful for many aspects of my career and the benefits afforded me, I am most appreciative of the countless number of friends I made along the way.

I started this publication to keep busy after retirement.  Little did I know that my new focus would entail so much effort.  The decision to start this community publication came with a commitment to “Paying it Forward” wherever I could. To do this myself and our editorial team have begun to seek out opportunities for adding value to our philanthropic community, starting with small moves, such as providing pro-bono exposure to a different, local non-profit in each issue.

In past issues, South Charlotte Lifestyle has provided a voice to the American Heart Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Shining Hope Farms, Charlotte Food and Wine Festival, Habitat for Humanity, and in this issue the Lupus Foundation.   I hope their messages have resonated with you.

As a nod to our six month anniversary issue, we would like to bring special attention to uBACK, which connects you to the causes that matter most to you – ANYTIME, ANYWHERE.  When you donate with uBACK, 100% of your donation goes to the charity.
Thank you for your efforts in supporting these and any charity you deem important.

In closing, I would like to acknowledge all the individuals I have met along the way in publishing this community magazine. I would like to give special recognition to my editor, Kacy Burke, whose dedication to excellence is without par.   I especially would like to thank our advertising partners who make South Charlotte Lifestyle possible.
