Inside | Out

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture are pairing up to bring art to Charlotte in a whole new way. Inside | Out is a new public exhibition and outreach program intended to bring visual art to a larger portion of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community. The program places high-quality reproductions of current artwork on display at the Bechtler Museum and Gantt Center in surprising locations around Charlotte, from parks to community centers. Up to 60 of these framed reproductions exemplify the diversity of art on display in these museums and engage a part of the community who otherwise might not be exposed to art. There will be two exhibition periods: spring, which began last month and runs through July; and fall, which will be on display September through December. Reproductions are clustered together to encourage community walks from artwork to artwork.

Social Venture Partners Charlotte

With so much need in our community, how do you prioritize your giving? Organizations like Social Venture Partners provide the answer. SVP Charlotte is a network of strategic philanthropists who intentionally strengthen our local communities. SVP brings together worthy causes, volunteers and investors in order to bring effective solutions. Committees perform in-depth research to identify areas of the most pressing needs in Charlotte, and then organize resources that are actually effective.

SVP’s annual SEED20 program identifies and supports the region’s innovative nonprofits that have the potential to positively impact our most pressing social challenges. For two months, SVP and SEED20 provide mentoring, training and coaching to 20 nonprofits on how to most effectively tell their story. The program culminates in SEED20 OnStage, when these nonprofits present their stories and compete for funding in front of a crowd of hundreds. The Alumni Network continues to support participants for years to come, ensuring these nonprofits are effective. For more information, visit seed20.org or SocialVenturePartners.org/Charlotte.
