April 2018 Lifestyle Letter

This issue marks our third year of publishing South Charlotte Lifestyle.

It seems it was just the other day that we launched our premier issue in early 2016. I had just transitioned from 33 years in corporate life to proprietor of my new pride and joy: South Charlotte Lifestyle. The goal was simple: to play a role in helping the area flourish by producing each issue as a resource with interesting content, special events, tantalizing recipes, and more.

I started this publication to keep busy after retirement; little did I know that my new hobby would entail so much effort—and reward. Over the past two years, we have highlighted a variety of stories, from a guide to cooking with beer, to traveling to the Galapagos Islands, to our first Readers’ Choice. Those are just a few of my favorites, but the list goes on.

The decision to start this community magazine came with a commitment to “paying it forward” by providing a voice to non-profits and charities. Since then, we’ve provided more than 24 different nonprofits with free ads in our pages, including the American Heart Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Shining Hope Farm, Habitat for Humanity, Susan Komen, and in this issue, Charlotte Wine and Food Weekend. I hope their messages have resonated with you.

This publication would not be possible without the outstanding advertising partners that have placed their trust in us to reach the South Charlotte readers. To our readers, my commitment is to continue to strive to be a good steward of your time and resources. We ask our readers to check out our advertising partners, as we are very deliberate with how we choose to represent us and our area, and we genuinely think you’ll enjoy these businesses.

We look forward to providing relevant and captivating content in the years ahead. South Charlotte Lifestyle is your magazine, and we hope to do you proud.

From my family to yours, cheers!
