Life Time Athletic Promotes Employee To Senior General Manager
Following the successful opening and subsequent operation of Life Time Athletic Charlotte in December 2017, General Manager Johnny Groff will bring his industry expertise to all Life Time locations in the Charlotte region as the new Senior General Manager. Groff opened Life Time Athletic Charlotte and has since been managing the 320,000 square-foot development in South Charlotte where he oversaw all day-to-day logistics for each amenity. In his new position, Groff will consult with the leaders of Life Time’s three Charlotte locations to ensure continued growth and success.
Own Touch Soccer Comes to Charlotte
In June, Own Touch Charlotte opened its doors in the OrthoCarolina Wellness Center to provide year round, unlimited technical and athletic performance training for youth soccer players at all levels. Since opening their first location in Virginia in 2010, Own Touch has provided over one thousand youth soccer players with technical training and mentorship, including the US Men’s Youth National Team.
A New Brew In Town
No, we’re not talking about beer. We’re talking about something arguably better–coffee. In late May, Charlotte welcomed Undercurrent Coffee, a multiroaster cafe and on-site coffee education lab in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood. Undercurrent has a carefully curated menu of food and beverage options, a seasonally-rotating list of single origin loose leaf teas and a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes for the perfect gathering spot. We recommend trying their “Plough Boys” Grit Bowl–you won’t be disappointed.
PurpleStride Charlotte is the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s annual run/walk to end pancreatic cancer. The fundraiser and event will take place on Saturday, September 15, with the opening ceremony beginning at 8 a.m. followed by the 5K run/walk. Coach Ron Rivera of the Carolina Panthers is serving as the Honorary Starter and will be joined by TV reality star and singer/songwriter Erin Willett, who lost her father to pancreatic cancer in 2011. Willett will be performing her song “Hope’s Alive.”
