Carepoint, Inc. was co-founded by Heather and Brian Rahrig a decade ago. Originally from Ohio, the Rahrigs were frequent visitors to the Queen City and were quick to notice the absence of comprehensive in-home care services catering to adults and seniors who were eager to retain their independence at home. As Heather, a certified care manager and registered nurse with a bachelor of science in gerontology, recalls, “. . . [we] recognized a need for this service and made it happen.”

Why Choose Carepoint for Your Home Care Needs?

The Carepoint team prides itself on its client-centered approach to care, with communication among the clients and their families being a critical part. As a senior’s cognitive and physical abilities change, they may need help with everyday tasks such as bathing and dressing, medication assistance, transportation, meal preparation, laundry and housekeeping. Carepoint can start with minimal in-home support, increasing to a more inclusive set of services as needed.

Respite care is also an option if temporary or occasional support is all that’s needed. When you choose Carepoint for your home care needs, you have selected a partner who is continually working not only to develop additional service offerings but also to refine their existing services with one goal in mind: to improve each client’s quality of life.

Carepoint appreciates the need for a combination of top-notch home care and all-inclusive senior care management in the Charlotte area. As such, it has developed services that provide comprehensive support for their clients’ overall care and environmental safety through a staff of certified care managers, RNs and certified nurse aides. Carepoint can also leverage its network of senior care partners to further improve the safety and quality of life for its clients.

  • Once the initial care assessment is complete, a comprehensive care plan is custom-tailored to the specific needs of the client.
  • Home care services are provided based on a schedule that fits the client’s needs and lifestyle, whether a few hours a week or 24 hours a day.
  • Routine status checks and safety visits are also provided to ensure that the scope and level of care being given is appropriate.
  • Emergency assistance is only a phone call away and is available 24/7.

Other Support Services Offered

In addition to supporting a client’s routine daily tasks, Carepoint understands that a more comprehensive level of oversight may be required. This is especially important when there are no family, friends or other support systems available nearby. As a result, Carepoint offers a complete care management solution giving distant family members peace of mind knowing that their parent or loved one is being provided with a high level of care and compassion. This may come in the form of overseeing the client’s medical care, finances, home maintenance and security.

Tradition of Community Involvement and Advocacy

Specializing in care for adults and seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia, Carepoint has a long tradition of supporting the Alzheimer’s Association. A regular supporter of the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Carepoint was honored to serve as a sponsor for the 2016 and 2017 Alzheimer’s Conferences.

Heather speculates that emotional ties may also fuel the passion she and Brian have for those suffering with Alzheimer’s.
