The Charlotte Community ToolBank held its 6th annual Hammers & Ales fundraiser on September 8, at C3 Lab in South End. Attendees enjoyed music from Coconut Grove Band, food from Noble Smoke and beer tastings provided by Kit's Trackside Crafts and Tryon Distributing. All proceeds from the event benefitted the Charlotte Community ToolBank.

The 30th Annual Great Gatsby Gala brought in more than $200,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. On September 7, Patriots Path hosted Drinks & Drawings, an event to benefit veterans who are navigating their transitions from military to civilian careers. Local artist and veteran, Sean Johnson, and his wife welcomed over 80 guests to their lovely Plaza Midwood home and gallery. Sean’s service-inspired art was featured in silent and live auctions.
In September, Life Time Athletic partnered with SweatNet for a fierce Warrior Sculpt class led by SweatNet ambassador and Life Time instructor, Miki Russ. The class combined a soulful yet fierce fusion of yoga and weights in a sweaty, nonstop flow. Afterwards, the yoga warriors were rewarded with smoothies made in the LifeCafe.
This fun and free event gave an insight on how Circle de Luz makes a difference in the Charlotte community. Less than two hours away from Charlotte, the Tryon International Equestrian Center hosted the 72nd Annual Tryon Block House Races on April 14. The event featured five races in front of a packed crowd at the Green Creek Race Track. Jockey Sean McDermott was awarded Top Jockey.
On May 20 Life Time Athletic Charlotte hosted local yogi Jennifer Busco for the first workshop of four in the series, “Creating the Shift." In this workshop, participants worked on recognizing and transforming fear based thinking, unhealthy belief systems and patterns that don’t serve them anymore through yoga, meditation, lecturing and group exercise.

The "We Speak Hope" Volunteer Event kicked off this year's National Salvation Army Week. Nearly 200 volunteers we packed 300 toiletry kits, 300 school supply bags, 600 snack packs for first responders (this year, the Charlotte Fire Department will receive those packs), and 600 packs for the USO.
