December 2017 Lifestyle Letter

Anyone who knows me can attest to this fact: I love Christmas.

Pink Pint Night

Attendees of the 6th Pink Pint Night, sponsored by Charlotte Radiology and NoDa Brewing Company, enjoyed live music,
food trucks and a special pink brew, "Breast Intentions!” The event raised $45,000 to support local uninsured women in need of screening and diagnostic mammography services.

Race for the Cure

Komen Charlotte hosted its 21st Annual Race for the Cure, which brought nearly 15,000 people to uptown and raised over $1 million to support their mission to meet the most critical needs in our community and invest in research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

December 2017 Around Town

The Harvey B. Gantt Center will host its Jazzy Holiday Gala on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 6:00 pm in the Charlotte Convention Center’s Crown Ballroom, with presenting sponsor Bank of America. Your Guide to Giving Back

With our hearts and bellies full, this season is the perfect time to share that plenty with others—but it can be difficult to choose who, how, or where. That’s why we’ve compiled our Giving Back Guide. These nonprofits, all locally-based, work directly in our own community, improving the lives of those who need it most, especially during this season. Thanks…

Locally Made & Locally Gave

The lights are sparkling on the tree, a classic crooner is caroling Christmas tunes through the speakers, something sugary and homemade is sending its scent through the house. Your sister, your husband, your son sits bathed in the candlelit glow of early morning, their fingers tugging at the carefully tied bow, and from out of the box they pull… a…

Game Room Gift Guide

There are many sounds we associate with the holidays: the curplunk of a pool ball falling into a corner pocket, the swishing grate of shuffleboard pucks, the raucous cheer following the final swing of a ping-pong paddle. It’s the sound of a game room—not the traditional bells and ho-ho-hos—that we prefer to hear around the holidays.
